About Youth Sport Uganda

Established in 2006, Youth Sport Uganda (YSU) is a registered Sport for development organisation based in Kampala. YSU offers sporting opportunities for the underprivileged youth in Uganda.

We develop social skills and confidence of disadvantaged young boys and girls from the slums, through working with school, and out of school sports programmes.

Coaches Trained

This project teaches girls and boys basic tailoring skills for a period of 6 months. They learn machine work, pattern drafting and cutting, fashion illustrations and practical sewing

In our Football 4 WASH program, we use the power of football to influence behavior in the field of water, sanitation & hygiene (WASH) among school going boys and girls. 

Sponsorship funds are sourced from friends of YSU abroad to help young sportsmen and women who can’t afford to pay for Secondary School but are active in their sports

Youth Sport Uganda (YSU), in a consortium with UNHCR, AVSI Foundation, Right To Play and Uganda Olympic Committee is implementing the Game Connect project 

YSU with the support from Xcalibur Foundation and Real Madrid Foundation, is implementing the first Social Sports School in Uganda in the division of Nakawa

YSU, with the funding received from the French Development Agency is also implementing the Play Right Project. The purpose of the project is to promote the rights of 1558 children

The project that is funded by Viva Con Agua brings together 8 organizations, to increase of access to Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene, including Menstrual Hygiene Management
