Learn about the Team Behind Youth Sport
Fred is a qualified social worker having completed a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Social Administration from Bugema University Class of 2011.
He is very passionate about sports and has worked with various youth grassroots sports organization for the last six years. He has managed to secure scholarships for talented young individuals from disadvantaged families. He has also managed to secure youth soccer players to Europe by leading them to participate in Gothia Cup, Norway Cup, Donosti Cup and in East African Tournaments.
Ruth Hoffman leads our international sales team. Ruth is a professional accountant and business consultant, with international experience from living and working in the U.S., Canada and Belgium. Ruth works for Edes & Associates, an accounting firm in Kampala, to help non-profit organisations become more accountable and sustainable.

Solomon grew up in Naguru Slum located in Kampala, back in the 1980s and ’90s, seeing people who are humble and ready to learn without the things that we take for granted such as functional education, clean water, clothing, and good health
After finishing his Bachelor’s degree in commerce at Makerere University, he joined Youth Sport Uganda to help improve the lives of the vulnerable children in the slum were he grow up from. read more...
By the time he joined YSU it didn’t have the capacity to solve half of the problems that children were facing in the slums in which it was operating, but it has now grown to cover the whole country and children are being supported through the power of sports.
At the moment Youth sport Uganda, has carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because the vulnerable people, local community, and the staff have remained faithful to the ideals that promote peace and harmony and true to the founding documents.
Samy, was born within a children‘s rehabilitation centre (Naguru Remand Home) in the early 80’s, just after the civil war. His father was the in charge of the rehabilitation centre which was located with the slums of Naguru.
He grew up with lots of orphans and juveniles children, From this childhood he witnessed the need and importance of play in a child’s life, As a child he actually had to make balls from waste polythene bags, car toys from binding wire, and using old car tyres as cars. This neighbourhood inspired him to be a better and young man and finally made it to complete an Engineering degree.read more...
Samy, Joshua and Solomon grew up within this background and being able to make it out, realised they needed to do something for the children to have the resources they never had a chance to get, or even dream about.
